Boris KramerBoris Kramer was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Through his father, Richard he learned blacksmithing techniques. He completed a degree in Fine Arts at Mc Master University in 1995. Using tools and methods of both modern and ancient smithing techniques, these unique designs are hand-forged. The sculptures are made from low carbon or hot rolled steel, stainless steel, copper and bronze. Each piece is handmade and varies slightly in shape, surface texture and expression. Known for their rounded, semi-abstract, human forms, these pieces are simple yet elegant expressions of human relationships. Having experienced both great tragedy and joy in my own life, I want my art to sustain relevant and meaningful encounters, Boris states. As an added touch, Boris father Richard, who is also a poet, has written a poem to accompany each work of art. From personal tabletop gift items to large commissions for foyer and outdoor landscapes, Boris and his father have designed sculptures both heartwarming and intriguing. Some items are now available in hand thrown glass as well. |
